About the blog

No-fluff practical guides for musicians and worship teams, written by the team building Muzin.

Muzin Blog is the blog of the team behindMuzin, an app for managing songs, chords and setlists for worship teams, currently in development. We write about music, sound, vocals and instruments with a focus on the reality of church music teams: tight budgets, volunteers at different levels and Sundays that don't wait.

Who writes

The Muzin team: worship team musicians and software developers building Muzin. The articles come from the real problems we run into setting up and serving in music teams: what to buy on a limited budget, how to sound better with what you already have and how to organize the team's work. We sign as a team, not with names: what matters is that the advice works on Sunday.

How we write

  • The answer comes first. Every article opens with a short answer that stands on its own; the rest develops it.
  • Data with real units — hertz, dollars, minutes, keys — and tables when things need comparing. Prices are indicative and carry the year.
  • No invented experience. If we haven't used it, we say so; if it's the standard in live sound and church, we explain why.
  • Publication and review dates are visible: when something goes out of date, we revise it and mark it.
  • Figures are data, not decoration: signal chains, EQ curves or stage plots drawn from the article itself. No stock photos.

How we recommend gear

  • Nobody pays us to speak well of a product. If an article contains affiliate links, we say so clearly at the top (see theaffiliate disclosure).
  • We prioritize gear we have used or that is a proven standard in live and church sound, and we always explain the why behind each recommendation and what the cheaper alternative is.
  • When we're torn between two options we say so, and who each one is for.
